Dr. Derek Turner
A native of New Mexico, Dr. Derek J. Turner has practiced medicine as an emergency veterinarian at Beverly Oaks since 2002. Dr. Turner attended New Mexico State University and received his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1983. He continued his education at the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. His professional interests include emergency medicine, surgery and equine reproduction.
Dr. Turner keeps busy at home caring for a number of pets, including two cats, five dogs, a quarter horse named Shorty and a beta fish named Mr. Fish. He also enjoys painting, sculpting, woodwork, hiking, gardening, cooking and spending time with his wife, Cheryl, and his two children, Garrett and Brianne.
