COMFORTIS (spinosad) is an oral tablet for DOGS that begins to kill fleas within 30 minutes. Its advantage over Frontline and Advantage is that it kills fleas fastest--it takes Advantage up to 12 hours and Frontline up to 24 hours to kill fleas. Also, since it is an oral product, there is no residue on the coat, and you can bathe the pet weekly if you need to, or wish to. This is a real plus for those pets that have dry flaky coats, or greasy coats, or just plain like to roll in the mud--you can bathe the pet without washing off expensive topical products!
Comfortis is a ONCE A MONTH CHEWABLE tablet, for use in dogs and puppies 14 weeks or older.

PROMERIS FOR DOGS (methifluamazone/amitraz) and PROMERIS FOR CATS (methiflumazone) are new topical products for flea control. Methiflumizone has a safety profile much like Advantage and Frontline, so it is very safe. If your pet has been doing generally well with either Advantage or Frontline, but you are starting to see fleas earlier, you may be having some resistance. So, it is time to change. Definitely notice that the cat and the dog products are different, so you cannot use the small dog product on a cat, ever.
